You are stuck with hot air balloon images for a day or two as I invested too much effort in attending not to post. I left home at 4 AM, after giving a quick emergency bath to Piper who decided to confront a skunk just before I left. I arrived around 5:30 as the balloons were scheduled to take off at 6:00. The balloons didn't show up until nearly 7:00, and were under a weather delay. So much for those incredible pre-dawn inflation and amazing dawn lift off images I had envisioned! :-( They finally let the balloons inflate, but the gray sky and poor light remained. Rather than a mass launch, around 8:00 they told the balloonists they could launch at their discretion. Some did, others didn't, so it was nearly impossible to catch them aloft together.
I knew I wouldn't have a special landscape to work with, so I was prepared to focus on the balloons, but I had hoped for nicer skies and better light. Maybe next year. Or maybe Monday if I can face another early, early morning trip.
You did good! Nice colors. Around here in Nashville,TN our last balloon fest started just before sunset and were not allowed to take flight. They have a glo burn that last maybe 10 to 15 seconds.
