Still busy with stage 1.
Painted the first underlayer of the water and the foreground today. The details on the mountains will be done coming Tuesday.
The last lesson I painted the storm clouds and a few days later I painted the tree trunks again.
@wakelys@salza@summerfield@30pics4jackiesdiamond@monikozi Thank you all so much dear gang members!
Monika, I’m painting this on a wooden panel 40x50 cm’s and there are 3 shades of raw umber and titanium white in the water. The curves of water should have probably been more blended but there is always the next layer of paint.
@jacqbb you have already achieved a great amount of depth in this beginning effort! Your choice to use the wooden panel as a starting place is going to give stronger detail to the finished results! I can only Imagine what the water is going to look like when you were finished since it always looks almost perfect! Eagerly anticipating the final results of this one.
@kjarn Thank you Kathy! @casablanca Thanks Casa glad you already like it. @grammyn Thank you Katy, the difference between a canvas and a panel is the texture or in case of the panel lack of texture. It is a totally smooth surface to work on. I’m hoping it’s going to work out well.

How big is your canvas?
