Raindrops by artsygang

Raindrops

I did this one first in acrylics and after drying gave it a few thin layers of oilpaint in the same colours.
Wow! Or looks gorgeous! The drops are so real. And you have very vibrant colors. Just beautiful.

is this Jacqueline or cassy? i love the attention to small details like the slope of the leaf and the veins on the larger left part. You nailed the drops, they're so real i 'm afraid they'll start to drip off the screen. the shading is perfect. aces!

@summerfield This is Jacqueline, Thanks Vikki, I heard the voice of my teacher the whole time in my mind, blend your colours etc etc. I find I got a better result after I used the oil paints.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thanks Jackie, please try it too, it is really fun to do.
@grammyn Thank you Katy, you did a great job too!
@monikozi Thank you Moni, the vibrant colours are because I used oil paint as top layer.

Super raindrops. I've watched the tutorial but can't wait to have a go myself. Only got watercolours so hope it works.

@serendypyty Thanks Cazzi! Don’t go too thin with the paint, and keep your canvas small. This one was 15x15 cm’s.
@wakelys Go for it Susan!

Yeah, @jacqbb you even got the highlight at the back of the drops. I learned about it from another tutorial. It said that light not only goes into the dome of the drop, but also creates a highlight where it goes out of the dome.
I have the bad habit of doing my research post factum... :)
