@grammyn good grief no!!! I used a wider pen and went over some of the lines on left side to create shadow. I used @monikozi 's suggestions and am amazed atbghe difference. Moni also sent me a YouTube link on how to colour It in!!
@30pics4jackiesdiamond I find this terrific! i love it and it makes me want to do it too. I saw in the original photo that you asked permission for the entire gang, so I will take it as it is :D
@monikozi it's a lot of straight lines. How did person in YouTube you sent me manage free hand?? I have a very iky ruler now!! Look forward to your interpretation. I think its something @summerfield would enjoy ( not a challenge Vikki, but youre so good at buildings!!)
@30pics4jackiesdiamond exercise, Jackie... I draw very wobbly lines, but I learned to embrace them. I just took a course on Skillshare and the tutor there challenged the students to draw directly in ink, so as to force acceptance of mistakes. And oftentimes the mistakes get masked by other lines.
of course, when I want something to look better, I first draw in pencil. As i will probably do with this one.
@grammyn@30pics4jackiesdiamond Another good exercise to loosen up and embrace mistakes i learned on skillshare is blind contour drawing. Meaning: you stare at your subject and draw a continuous line (=not lift the pen/pencil from the paper so as not to lose track of where you are) AND NEVER look at the drawing until you finish. The purpose is to train yourself to draw what you see, not what your brain tells you to.
Unfortunately the videos on Skillshare can not be shared. And they are not available on youtube. Neither are the tutors. i tried looking them up with the same information, but that is not available.
of course, when I want something to look better, I first draw in pencil. As i will probably do with this one.
far too complicated for my meagre skills, though. you've already done perfection.
