This piece of public art is located on the corner of Jasper Avenue and 109 Street. It has been around since 2001. They are nice on a windy day as they are Air Flutes. You do have to listen carefully though to hear them due to all of the traffic that passes by. Have a great weekend everyone
Oh...love the pic!!! Interesting artwork. See now it is the traffic that makes me love country living (born and raised a city girl so I'm allowed this opinion:)
@michelerozek Yes that does give you the ability to choose betwen the two. My wife and I lived in rural Saskatchewan for a while and I can say with all certainty that I definitely love the city. In this case I do think that they could have found a better spot for this
How interesting.. never seen anything like this before.
A wonderful weekend to you too. sorry I've been unable to spend much time here on 365 but I'm slowly feeling a bit better.
an art project in our country is similar. The artist made air flutes from big bamboo sticks and put several of them on the coastline so they can hear each other. And you can hear them singing Great view and capture
Never heard of air flutes. If they are anything like wind chimes, they drive me crazy on a windy day. I'm thinking the traffic noise would be a good thing!
that is quite unique. we can't have that in toronto, i guess. traffic noises, and the sirens are on every five minutes. big city for you. i'll put that in my list to see when i visit alberta.
A wonderful weekend to you too. sorry I've been unable to spend much time here on 365 but I'm slowly feeling a bit better.
