Today's Challenge in the 50 Day Gratitude Challenge is to name something that over the passing of time you are more grateful for.
I automatically thought of our parents.
Growing up you see your parents as invincible. You don't see them as growing old, getting sick or even passing away.
However, as time goes by you certainly see them grow older and in most cases face health challenges and in some cases pass away. Tomorrow will mark 19 years since my Dad passed away.
Today Melody and l are grateful for the fact that my Mom is still alive. Her parents are alive and doing well. He is 91 and she is 87.
Her parents help with music for church services we do a couple of times a month at a Seniors Residence here in Edmonton.
With each passing moment in time we are grateful for every day we have with them
Two lovely shots, and a great tribute to your parents. Our parents have a profound effect on our lives, and contribute a great deal to the people that we become. Fav!
A beautiful reflection, Brian, and so wise and true! It's lovely to see you mom and Melody's parents in these photos, and how wonderful that they are still with you! Fav
Parents are a real treasure and I'm thankful I recognized how special mine were at a young age. You also have the extra blessing of having your parents nearby. Jeff's mom is in Texas so we rarely see her except in pictures. Great shots of these special people.
Beautiful portraits and lovely narrative. In my youth I was rebellious and everything was "no". The longer I live, the more I understand and appreciate my parents.
