Festive Finch by bluemoon

Festive Finch

We have a LOT of finches visiting the feeders since the snow started to fly and I always have trouble identifying the House FInch from the Purple Finch. Can't say for sure but I'm guessing this is the Purple Finch which "is the bird that Roger Tory Peterson famously described as a “sparrow dipped in raspberry juice.” Whichever one it is, he's all dressed in red for the holidays! :)

Thanks to Brian for correctly identifying this bird as a House Finch, not a Purple Finch!! :)
I must say that i enver You all that birds ...nice and simple...

@bribuccigrossi Thanks Brian, when I was writing the description I actually called it a House Finch and then as usual I started to overthink it and convinced myself it was a Purple Finch. I've looked them up in my bird book a million times and I finally get them straight and then in a month or so I forget which one is what again! Thanks for clarifying, I appreciate it! :)
