I know there's been threads about it before, and I've actually bookmarked a few of them. I would like to see your images of famous landmarks around the world. I love the diversity of this planet. It can be a building or a natural wonder. If there's one thing I've learned about this community it's that the photographers here are phenomenal. I've seen some of the best photos of famous locations here on this very site. Feel free to post more than one landmark.
Steptoe Butte in Eastern Washington... Geographically speaking it is not really a butte, but it is the "butte" from whence the geographic feature, steptoe, derives its name. This shot was taken in the fall, but I have several others...

@marilyn I've been to Western Washington only, en route to Portland, Oregon. Unfortunately it was late at night or super early in the morning both ways, so I only got to see most of Washington in the dark. Thanks for sharing!
@tinatmmc mesmerizing. I only saw it from the air once.
@appaloosa05 looks like you've been to quite a few places! I've been to Tombstone, AZ. I was disappointed in how commercialized it was vs. Dodge City, KS and Deadwood, SD. Although Boot Hill in all 3 towns was neat.
@mcrt Those are great! from coast to coast even. Although the Maine one looks a little chilly for my taste.
@lorihiro LORI!! /hugs. I love when I see your photography. These are fantastic! Love that Pier shot. And I never knew Rodeo Dr. was so decorative.
@tthompsonca as a teenager I was fascinated by this volcano and city. I've never thought to visit it. Thanks for sharing!
@grizzlysghost ah a traveler I see. I enjoyed Rushmore, though I didn't get that close. That castle in Germany is breathtaking! Devil's Tower was a side trip I never thought I would get to see, until I was there in 2007. Boy was I surprised by the prairie dog town at its base.
@lorraineb Love Castles, love reflections. Beautiful shot!.
Thanks so much for sharing everyone! Even if I didn't post a reply in here I love all these shots and will spend a few days faving and doting on a lot of them.
@freakoyanni An all steel church? I haven't personally heard of it. How fascinating! Your photos are beautiful.
@archaeofrog Berlin Wall, Now there's a place I think I want to to go some day. Super appreciate you sharing. I hear Prague is gorgeous, your photo definitely prove it.
@dmortega I've been to about half those locals on a road trip from Texas to Vegas. It's a fun trip full of quirky side things to do. Valley of Fire and the Boneyard are two things I really want to do, but it's hard to get my friends out of the casinos once we get there haha.
@chauncygirl I haven't been to a game in about a decade. And never at Fenway Park. Thanks for sharing!
@silverdraggin Yes, it is entirely made of steel. I do not believe it either until I gave the walls a knock. It is one of our country's first prefabricated structures. It's built by 1891, two years after the Eiffel tower was built. It is made of steel because the previous churches built there are damaged by earthquakes and fire, so they thought that an all steel structure would solve that problem. :)
WOW guys I think we have been all around the world and back again on this link! I've just got back from Paris so here are 2 of its famous cathedrals (missing out the Eiffel Tower for fear of repetition)...
Oh.... and ok, can't resist slotting in one of the most awesome places on the planet that I have seen so far...
By the way .. if you want to see some wonderful places around the earth take a look a Megan Richardson's second year... amaaaazing! @lbmcshutter ... eg

@shutterbugger it's always awesome to have photos for landmarks. I was talking to a friend the other day though and we discussed that I might should have reworded it. Famous landmarks are beautiful. But I think I'd be thrilled to see what people would consider their "local" landmarks as well. Some more obscure locations. Wouldn't you agree?
