Favorite picture of your project November 17-23 and Why

November 24th, 2012
Post your favorite photo of your own project from this week to share with those that may not otherwise see it.Lets also put WHY or WHAT about it you like.
There were some really great photographs last week. It is fun to see what you like of your posts as it is not always what everyone else chooses.

There are two easy ways to add pictures on to the discussion.
The first is a full size photo: 1) Click on your favorite photo and bring up its page. 2)Look at the right side of your monitor, and go to the word SHARE (it is below tags) 3) go to the box and copy the long address 4) Come back to the discussion, and then paste.
The second is to have a smaller file size so to keep the site from getting overwhelmed. http://365project.org/discuss/general/1323/how-to-adding-an-image-in-a-discussion.
November 24th, 2012
I had so much fun playing in the sunshine and warmth before the winter cold hit this week. I really liked the colors and reflection in this one.
November 24th, 2012
The hint of blue behind clouds was unexpected
November 24th, 2012
I liked the detail of the leaves in the foreground and the lighting of this shot.
November 24th, 2012

This provided a much needed splash of colour in my life
November 24th, 2012
This one, as it is quite technical and I wouldn't have been able to do this 9 months ago before 365!

November 24th, 2012
i saw the boat as we embarked from the ferry and i went straight for it. i stood beside it listening to the unusually calm waters of lake ontario and looking at the beautiful skyline obscured by a little haze, remnant of the fogs earlier. it just calmed my senses, having just taking a lunch break from the chaotic world of a lawfirm. as it was, i missed the ferry going back and didn't make it to the office until late in the afternoon.
November 24th, 2012
because the buildings' reflection was a good surprise !

November 24th, 2012
It was my first time closely observing flight training. I've watched the Bald Eagles fly in programs and at Busch Stadium but this was the first time I could really watch and learn about the process - what it takes to work with a bird of this size. A couple of days ofter I got this shot, I got my chance and flew Lewis (the bird that most frequently flies for the St. Louis Cardinals). It was thrilling. This shot of Buford and head trainer Roger was just a lucky moment of timing!

November 24th, 2012
I like this one because it makes a mundane subject colourful

November 24th, 2012
I never expected to see a big hawk fly in, let alone get a photo of it.
November 24th, 2012
Because this is a portrait of my son, showing his scars from open heart surgery. He is my hero.
November 24th, 2012
This is my son, we were out playing in the leaves. My intention was to capture him playing with the leaves throwing them etc, but this made me smile so much I thought I would post this instead. I was half tempted to just leave it there :-)
November 24th, 2012
This is the first digital photograph that I ever won an award for and the first digital image that I applied extensive post processing to. It is also one of my favorite images I have ever taken:

November 24th, 2012
I love the shimmer on the petals and the flecks of pollen... (if you have time to view large, it really brings out the shimmer)

November 24th, 2012

I just love squirrels :P
November 24th, 2012
my 1/365 shot :)
November 24th, 2012
November 24th, 2012

A childhood fantasy becomes a surprise event only once in my life.
November 24th, 2012
I just love the shadows created by my niece's chandelier...

November 24th, 2012
@jannkc --- I just wanted to say thanks for adding the why to these threads. I don't know if you started it but it makes us think about why and gives a personal feel to the whole thread. Much better than just posting and walking away.
November 24th, 2012
Probably this one...

It is part of one of my favourite views across Worcestershire looking from the Lickey Hills, south towards the Malvern Hills. I have taken many photos of it with varying degrees of success and this is one of my better ones. The mist has settled nicely into the valleys, the radio masts and water tower are sharp, and the birds just seem to add something that some of the other shots lacked.
November 24th, 2012
I was traveling in Asia for three weeks and it seems like I just got home. When I looked at my pictures for the 17th-23rd I see I have been home for a full week. Where does the time go? My picture from the 19th got more views/comments than most I post the 20th was my favorite. Pike Place Market is full of interesting photo opportunities. It is one of my go to places if I don't have a picture idea. This girl caught my eye on the 20th.

November 24th, 2012

I love how this turned out so subtle and soft :)
November 24th, 2012
Because it placed #3 in the week's Top 20. But moreover because I captured exactly what I envisioned - utilizing the piers and elegant reflections:

November 24th, 2012
I love how the texture and contrast came out in this photo.
November 24th, 2012
These are two of my favourite girls. Everything came together perfectly at this exact moment and I am so happy I caught it. One of my favourite pics I have ever taken.
November 24th, 2012

I was so excited when I found this old car, the lines and rust made my day!
November 24th, 2012
I was on a mission to stalk a successful sunset and loved this one with its silhouette of our down town skyline and capitol building.

November 24th, 2012
I was chuffed at how nice a very simple photo could look if taken in the right light. :)

November 24th, 2012

My favourite is this one, I dont do many balck and white and I liked the close crop
November 24th, 2012
I was pleased how this came out after taking many shots. I liked how the color came out, too.
November 24th, 2012

Because I tried this for the first time and had so much fun with it.
November 24th, 2012
This photo is a complete departure from the usual bees, butterflies and bokeh that seem to always crop up in my shots and as I had no idea what I was doing, I was quite pleased with the result!
November 24th, 2012
This one. I think it tells a bit of a story and is kind of fun in that we don't know if it's a white wall painted blue or a blue wall painted white.

November 24th, 2012
It was hard to choose between a couple of photos this week but I'm going with this one because I like the colours and the seasonal feel.

November 24th, 2012
this one... despite the annoying sign ;p it's street... it has mist, which i love and which i think gives it a quiet sense of eeriness...

November 24th, 2012
I have been playing with taking photos of the impact of the Autumn sunlight. I happened across a milkweed pod just in time to capture the light from the sun as it sank low on the horizon. I like the light play across the milkweed seeds.

November 24th, 2012
WINTER BARN
November 24th, 2012

Because I think they are adorable :)
November 24th, 2012
November 24th, 2012
This one, just because it evokes the joy and gratitude I feel when I'm with my son, who is still recovering from a serious accident.

November 24th, 2012
This is the first picture, where I wouldn't change a single thing. SOOC
November 24th, 2012
Although it was a difficult one to take, and is very raw, I'm actually quite pleased with this one from a very bad day on Monday
November 24th, 2012

I like this one because it was a lovely day, the birds were singing and it was so peaceful. There is a sign pointing to the Finger Lakes and the sign says sanctuary. I have met buddhists going there and I can understand why
November 24th, 2012

GROWING PAINS
This is my son, another hard day. But as I looked down I couldnt help but see he was sorry. And so was I. Even though Im the Mom I still have to grow too.
November 24th, 2012
Well mine would have to be the one I took for 23rd Nov..

Because it's so bright and colourful, and I've never really got anything good from a water droplet photo before!
November 24th, 2012
This one because it was so outside my comfort zone to take pictures at the mall, and because I liked how it came out! View large for best effect.
November 24th, 2012
This is my first double exposure, and it was accidental. I never would have thought of the combination, but I kind of like it!
November 24th, 2012
Because the clouds were amazing, and because it is a reminder of a wonderfu, much-needed, mini-getaway with my husband:

November 24th, 2012
@northy great shot!
November 24th, 2012
@aprilmilani love this. you can really feel the emotion.
November 24th, 2012
My sweet puppy taking a bath.
November 24th, 2012

I like this one because, a. I managed to work out the buses to get there b. I just love this sculpture and c. it might be the last day warm enough to sit out in for a loooooong time!
November 24th, 2012
Jim
Liked this the best because I took 200 great action and motion shots during this game, but it's the REaction and the Emotion that really tell the story
November 24th, 2012
@dmortega Thank you. I agree, I liked seeing the photos but was always curious why it became the favorite. Glad you like it and glad people are adding the info.
November 24th, 2012
This one, since I think I finally cracked the code on perspective correction and foreshortening, that I read today is correctly called "keystoning." Only cold architecture I know, but I learned a heck of a lot in the last week.

November 24th, 2012
@skatied They are, and to put them on a completely white background turned out very well, I think.
November 24th, 2012
@frankhymus Thank you :) I quite like how it turned out as well, I'm lucky because they don't seem to mind being put in a mini, make-shift studio in front of the camera! They are little exhibitionists really... Especially the little white one :)
November 24th, 2012
Thanks, Jann! This is a great thread.

It's been a satisfying full week for me, but this one came out closest to what I intended.
November 24th, 2012
Had a bit of a hot n miss week, but this is my fav of mine this week

November 24th, 2012
November 24th, 2012

I like this one - not so much for the image quality (I certainly didn't do the ring justice), but because my daughter got engaged this week to a fantastic guy. I'm so happy for her!
November 24th, 2012
@jcarrollphoto - great shot - and, WOW - those eyes!
November 24th, 2012
This is my favorite because my mom, dad and sister came to visit for Thanksgiving. We live in different corners of the world, but get to see each other a few times each year.
November 24th, 2012
this one because what started as a potential disaster led to a photograph I'd dreamed of getting someday and the fates smiled on me that day. I just wish 365 hadn't toned down the depth by toning down the blacks in the photo
November 24th, 2012
This one. It's badly flawed by camera noise, but the composition is something I've been looking for, though I never expected to find it in a multi storey car park. And I got that just as I wanted it.

November 24th, 2012
I like this one best because, if you know Larry, you know this picture is a miracle. ;) He is VERY energetic and never sits still enough... Not when I have my camera out anyhow.

November 24th, 2012

My favorite one would have to be this one because he is so stinkin' cute!
November 24th, 2012

It just feels extremely wintery! :)
November 24th, 2012

I took this photo thanksgiving morning. It wasn't my first choice that day as there is a house I've been wanting to take a picture of forever. Yet I'm happy that didn't work out now. :)
November 25th, 2012

For me this one, been wanting to do this kind of shot and finally done it and would like to do more sometime soon.
November 25th, 2012
Lil

I like this one because of the perspective and the focus.
November 25th, 2012
Just loved this little guy and really liked the colors and feather texture. These guys don't usually hold still long enough for me to get a shot.
November 25th, 2012
This was a photo that I've been meaning to get for awhile. I just hadn't figured out how to get it and live to tell about it. I finally just did it and was mostly safe.
November 25th, 2012
my fave of mine last week was this one, and if you click on the photo, you'll be able to read my fairly lengthy story as to why I love this photo so much.

November 25th, 2012
..because those two love birds were so cute dancing around.
November 25th, 2012

This is my first family session.. well first session lol. I am happy that this pose turned out. :)
November 25th, 2012
This is one of those moments of beauty that is so easy to overlook in a busy life. It is simply the sun shining through onto the table while I was making a fresh batch of sun tea. I like that I was able to notice it in the first place, and then had the ability to capture the moment.
November 25th, 2012
I drove thru nearly four hours of fog.....bound and determined to find something cool. This was an accidental meeting of nature.
November 25th, 2012
Such a great day, and i love this old bridge!
November 25th, 2012
@lissamc that is an amazing shot. WOW
November 25th, 2012

I've wanted to get better at portraits and I guess I fell in love with this one.
November 25th, 2012
@northy It's an awesome shot regardless if the sign is there or not. Really good stuff!
November 25th, 2012

I like this one becasue I think it is kind of simple but I also love the angle of it and how much of the tree you can see.
November 25th, 2012

i love the light against the drops of water.
November 25th, 2012
I love the detail and lighting in this one.

November 25th, 2012
I like this one because the model is our gorgeous Mia pussycat.

November 25th, 2012
This is one of my favourite pictures of my whole project - so I was a little saddened to find that it received so few comments :( . I was doing some photography for a web site selling glitzy dancewear bra straps and my daughter and her boyfriend were home for the weekend so I seized the opportunity to use them. I think the lighting is fab and there expressions just right. Sorry to beef my own work up - something I very rarely do but I just like it a lot !
November 25th, 2012
This one is my favorite of the week:

November 25th, 2012
@stoat Hi Debbie, just seen your favourite shot and I would also have been thrilled to have made one like this. Some of my own favourites have have very few comments. I guess it often depends on the time you post them.
November 25th, 2012
This is Whitby Abbey, where Dracula was said to have arrived in England. I love the orange uplighting against the dark blue sky.
November 25th, 2012
I like this one for the bokeh front & back.

November 25th, 2012

This is one of my little ones that come to visit daily. It's been so fun watching her grow. Such a sweet face. Nothing special about the picture but her.
November 25th, 2012
Here's my favourite shot from this week... and I like it best because I was dealing with rather tricky light... and really liked the result I still managed to get!

November 25th, 2012
this is the one for me....had a wonderful day in Rotterdam and was just in time for an amazing sunset in the harbour!
November 25th, 2012
November 25th, 2012
November 25th, 2012
@julieco thank you Julie, yes it's funny how it goes isn't it. You have some lovely pictures - I love the Whitby ones - a beautiful place that we have been lucky enough to visit in the past
November 25th, 2012
i liked the subject, love the blue night sky and the little man with his back to the hulk.
November 25th, 2012
November 25th, 2012
The rest of our family grew up living not very far from the beach at all. For our littlest this was his first time on the beach...
November 25th, 2012
I really like the energy of the city - - this shot was taken in downtown Seattle.....and i love how "beautiful" something so mundane can end up being!
November 25th, 2012
November 26th, 2012
This one came out exactly as I envisioned it. It is the only fog shot I got that had anything showing "through" the fog.
November 26th, 2012
November 26th, 2012
Famine...

November 26th, 2012
Wow so many amazing photographs :)

November 26th, 2012
I really love how the light turned out in this one. Also, focus was tricky because I was using my extension tubes, and this was about the size of my pinky nail.

November 26th, 2012
Love lighting on the birds...
November 26th, 2012
November 26th, 2012
November 26th, 2012
This is def my fav for the week..first time to use manual setting
November 26th, 2012
November 26th, 2012
Our pup is growing fast so this is him in a serious mood & concentrating on a bird which has just landed!

November 26th, 2012

It's not as up close as I usually like, but I still like the wintery feel of the photo :)
November 26th, 2012
I'm very happy how it came out, and i had a beautiful song in my mind :)
November 26th, 2012
November 26th, 2012

Think this is the first photo I have been really happy with so far in my 365 mission.
November 26th, 2012

enjoyed trying some photoshop techniques for this and was pleased with the result.
November 26th, 2012
Lyn
Because of the joyous occasion it represents:

November 27th, 2012

I like this one because I saw the web on a BBQ that was hiding behind some other stuff, dragged it out into the sun, sprayed it with a water bottle and finally took the shot. It took some effort :)
November 27th, 2012
There's no snooze button for a bird that wants breakfast!

November 27th, 2012
Love this shot of my boy running--especially the path curving into the distance.

November 27th, 2012
I got exactly what I was hoping to get with this shot.
November 27th, 2012
November 27th, 2012
Turkey Vulture seeking his next T.V. dinner
November 27th, 2012
It landed in a tree with me while I was out hunting.I used a 70-300 lens in manual focus to take this picture of a owl at 10 feet away.
November 27th, 2012

I love the bright colours :)
November 28th, 2012
How do I find the 'November-list'?
I know this probably isn't the right page, your help is greatly appreciated :-)
November 28th, 2012
@jannkc THANK YOU! :-D
November 28th, 2012
Bev
My favorite for this week is (btw, it is best viewed large or magnified):

It's my favorite because a car alarm caused me to go out at just the right moment. I almost missed it! I just love the jet stream that looks like it's headed for the moon. I should have called it Shuttle Launch or something but I stand by the title I committed with.
November 28th, 2012
Because I was fortunate enough to get picked....twice. In this shot I like the fact it captures a big event in my community and in addition the drivers smile is just great...expressing having fun participating in the event.
