Thank you once again to everyone who has or is taking part in Feature-4-Feb, we have seen over 2.000 photos so far and we still have a week to go!
I canβt believe there are on 7 days left in Feb so here we go with your suggestions for Mull-Over-March .
It could not be easierβ¦
Simply Nominate your word to this forum post and it may be included. You can nominate as many words as you like and if you see a word you like, just add it again... (the more times a word is mentioned, the more chance it will be used). I will then count up the number of times that a word has been added and the top 31 will be our list for Mar2013.
Please make your suggestions for βMull-Over-Marchβ between now (21st) and 6pm next Tuesday (26th) for them to be included. As always, if you have a word that you would like to see on a particular day, please nominate which day as well, for example:
- 10th: Mother (for Mothering Sunday)
- 17th: Green (St. Patrick's Day)
Could I also suggest that we make Birthday and Anniversary two of the Bonus words each month?
Here are a couple :
Bubbles
Stairs
Industrial
Green (for St Pats day - 17th March)
Pig (for international Pig day - 1st March)
Words
Women (for international women's day - 8th March)
Aquamarine (stone for March)
From above
From below
Something old & something new
Clone
Suess (For Dr Seuss's birthday - 2nd march)
Autumn
Graffiti
@amyamoeba I agree. "Yayyy" or "Yeeey" or however you prefer to spell it. Perhaps "excitement" would be a better word?
@jaynspain "old" and "breakfast" sound good. Especially breakfast, and it's already gone 10:30 here.
I would like to add:
Cheese
Dada (March is "International Dadaism Month")
Woman (8th is International Women's Day)
Aviation (4th-11th is Women Of Aviation Worldwide Week)
11th March is Commonwealth Day
Smile (20th March is International Day of Happiness)
Sun/Earth/Storm (Sun-Earth Day is on 22nd March - the theme this year being "Solar Max β Storm Warning!")
Well I missed a couple of the Feb words, and got the days mixed up twice...but oh well, I'm liking the find the word a day. Most have been mentioned, but I'll say them again
bubbles
pet
spring (it won't be in the southern hemisphere, but I'll come up with something)
old (could combine that with selfie)
clouds
Easter
March is "March Madness": college basketball playoffs. While I don't typically follow basketball, I am always a Gator fan and they usually make it past several levels. There is the Sweet Sixteen, the Elite Eight and the Final Four. Surely something can be taken from this.
Thanks for all your hard work Bulldog. I've really enjoyed the challenge this month and I really like having a focus rather than wandering aimlessly.
My suggestions:
Polka dot
Monochrome

Right silly question time here, do you have to get a word a day? Say the word for Palm Sunday is Palm... do you have to get a shot of a Palm for that day? And do you HAVE to do each and every word or can you pick a day a week and still be in the challenge? And last of all if your NOT a ACE member can you upload multiple shots to the different challenges? If i have asked the last question before somewhere, i appologise it has been a looong week this week :( :(
Paul
@salemslot You don't have to do anything. Some of the more... let's say conscientious... people do, others of us take time off for private side projects, or just dip in and out as we feel the need.
I imagine if you can fit one image into the parameters of more than one challenge, there's nothing to stop you doing that.
Firstly, thanks Bulldog! This is tremendous inspiration. You would not believe how much the colour PINK invaded my thoughts today!!
Seconding:
More drinks!
door
silver
my street
green - for st paddy's day
and then, a suggestion that each month includes the zodiac signs for that month. Maybe gemstones as well if necessary. Along the lines of birthdays and anniversaries.
Rather you than me doing the collating!!! Thanks in advance :)
As "Yes. No. Maybe" and Gillian said there are no rules, these are only suggestions, some people do them all, some only use the list when they are stuck for ideas, it does not matter as long as you enjoy your photography.
Thank-you @gphelps and @kwiksilver for your help with this i understand now and may one day subscribe to the site as a Ace member if i keep up with my 365 project for at least another few months.
Paul.
From Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, 1601. 'Beware the Ides of March' is the soothsayer's message to Julius Caesar, warning of his death.
The Ides of March didn't signify anything special in itself - this was just the usual way of saying "March 15th". The notion of the Ides being a dangerous date was purely an invention of Shakespeare's; each month has an Ides (often the 15th) and this date wasn't significant in being associated with death prior to 1601.
Just a quick question - the following words have been suggested
- Bunnies (10 times)
- Chocolate (4 times)
- Cross (3 times)
- Egg (9 times)
- & Easter (16 times)
I really like challenge words to help whe my brain won't play along and be creative.
Texture, and
below,
above,
edge...
the crazy list of national days is funny since we are from so many Nations.
At the risk of adding to an ever increasing list of suggestions, I wanted to be involved again so here goes...
I second the votes for chocolate, eggs, green (for the 17th) and bunnies. Also we could try daffodils, new growth, windy, mother (for mother's day) and lambs. I like smiles for the 20th as suggested earlier, March 8th is International Women's Day (Im involved in that) so we really should have that just to promote it. I'm Welsh, so as March 1st is St David's Day, maybe something for that (although we had dragon last month so maybe something else).
finally some random words that I just plucked out of the air...
I'm going to do this again in March - I really enjoyed the Feb challenge - thanks Bulldog! Since i'm on the opposite side of the globe going into autumn, can I add

Thanks for keeping everyone up to date with everything - you do a stirling job. To answer your question about Easter, yes I think it should be separate word.
I think it's amazing what different folk create for the words and I think the word of the day adds a whole new dimension to 365.
I also would like to add:
breakfast
lunch
dinner
favourite tipple
favourite food
yellow
water
freedom
@gphelps5 Thank - You for all your hard work with this, it is a real pleasure to have word to work to each day as it encourages me to take a more photos and try and improve my photography skills and knowledge.

Thanks for keeping everyone up to date with everything - you do a stirling job. To answer your question about Easter, yes I think it should be separate word.
I think it's amazing what different folk create for the words and I think the word of the day adds a whole new dimension to 365.
I also would like to add:
breakfast
lunch
dinner
favourite tipple
favourite food
yellow
water
freedom
bird
aged

@gphelps5 Thank - You for all your hard work with this, it is a real pleasure to have word to work to each day as it encourages me to take a more photos and try and improve my photography skills and knowledge.
