Flash of Red and Your First Full Week!

February 7th, 2022
You should start seeing your stripes start to emerge this week. Whether you're following the original pattern or one you've determined on your own, it's perfectly fine! If you follow the same order of shots you took last week, you'll still get stripes.

If you want to go by the initial post, here's the daily rundown:

Sunday- Low Key shots emphasizing black.
Monday- Low Key shots emphasizing black.
Tuesday- High Key shots emphasizing white.
Wednesday- Black and White photos emphasizing shape.
Thursday- Black and White photos emphasizing lines.
Friday- Black and White shots emphasizing shape.
Saturday- High Key shots emphasizing white.

(This list follows the way most calendars are printed BUT when you view your 365 calendar it will make more sense. The 365 calendar begins on Monday and ends on Sunday. When you see all your pictures laid out on the monthly 365 calendar, you should see a black stripe, a white stripe, shapes, lines, shapes, a white stripe, and a black stripe at the end of the month.)

So how, did February 1-6 go? In spite of the mix-up (my fault!) on what to post, did you have fun, get some good shots, and get your creative juices going? From what I've seen you did, but why not share your favorite shot from this week with the rest of us? Post it down below and tell us why you love it so!

And don't forget our Flash of Red is coming up on the 14th- more on how to accomplish that next week.

Thanks Ann - it is fun focusing on something different each day and I am trying to work with a theme for each as well hahaha.

This would have to be my favorite from the first 6 days. I haven't had a chance to photograph my husband playing guitar for a long time so I was glad when I caught this quick shot while he was practicing.

Thanks Ann. It’s so much fun to look at things differently - b&w, the themes, the inspiration from other projects. It’s definitely pushing me out of my comfort zone. My favorite for the week…

Hi Anne and thank you for all your work on this. I have had fun although, as it so often happens, if I were starting over I'd probably do it differently. I need to give these things more thought before just jumping in.
I think my favourite from this first week is this one

although the style is different and he doesn't really fit very well with the rest of the pictures of the week.

Always loving Flash Of Red... but not too worried about patterns. Maybe I'll rearrange later.
February 7th, 2022
Thank you Ann! I got five abstracts out of this timer . Not sure if going for stripes or checker board

February 7th, 2022
Thank you!

February 7th, 2022
This is definitely my favourite so far. I was very worried about whether or not I could manage the prompts but I'm loving it! Learning about my camera and challenging myself too. Thank you so much for organizing and encouraging @olivetreeann!
February 7th, 2022
This was my favorite, because the black and white were so crisp. Ann, thank you for organizing this challenge.

Awesome shots and comments- I'm glad you are all enjoying the challenge and making it your own. I'm having fun with it too!
February 8th, 2022
This has been great fun, despite the challenge of trying to stay up to date while entertaining family in the midst! Thanks for promoting this theme!
February 8th, 2022
@taffy Excellent shot for black and white! I've been trying to do the traditional shot a day for this month but I'm not entertaining family!

I like that the flowers almost disappear into nothingness.
February 8th, 2022
thanks so much for this challenge @olivetreeann thoroughly enjoying it! I think my fav of the week so far is:

but I can't wait to see this full second week get the pattern going
February 8th, 2022
@olivetreeann how do i submit my photo, I'm new and haven't worked out.
February 8th, 2022
Thanks for hosting this Ann. I really enjoy the FOR challenge, doing it and seeing what others do.

@mirroroflife No problem Pete! Go to the picture you want to post here. You'll see four icons below the picture- a pencil, a speech box, a star and an arrow. Right click on the arrow and then left click on the text in the box. Select copy. Open a separate window and go to 365project.org. Open this discussion thread and place your cursor in the comment box. Then in the pull down menu select paste. A bunch of words and numbers will show up- don't worry- once you hit "post reply" the picture will appear. You can write commentary underneath it if you'd like. Do that before you select "post reply". I think I've got that right- sometimes I get the right click, left click spots mixed up! I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures!

@joysabin Yes- beautiful effect!
@koalagardens One of my favorites too Katrina!
@shutterbug49 You've really mastered this effect Debbie!
February 9th, 2022
Very cool!
February 9th, 2022
Had to choose this one as it is a sight that was on our bucket list. The Orange River in flood is something that does not happen very often.
February 9th, 2022
@mirroroflife Pete to enter your photo in the challenge you have to put FOR2022 in the tag. You can edit your post by clicking the editing pencil. It needs to be a photo converted to bw for this particular challenge

Anne, I thought you were suggesting we change the date for the actual FoR image this month to get it right in the centre? that would be 17th?
February 9th, 2022
@koalagardens You can pick whatever date you'd like- when I look at my American calendar the 16th is in the center. But your calendar lays out differently than ours, so the 17th may look more to middle. I always put my flash on the 14th. You know how the saying goes- your project, your rules (o: !!
February 9th, 2022
@salza Spectacular shot Sally! The sound must be pretty awesome too.
February 10th, 2022
February 10th, 2022
@olivetreeann yeah I've always put it on the 14th, but the 365 calendar doesn't always have that as the middle so I think changing it around is a great idea
February 10th, 2022
@koalagardens @olivetreeann
Thanks for your help. When I upload the photo I dont see any icons just a tag box, thats when i come unstuck.so i click when finished i place the heading and it says save but just goes into my photos. cant find the tag frustrating. then FOR2022 might be the answer
February 10th, 2022

I like this photo the most so far because I was able to create the photo I had in my mind.
February 10th, 2022
@koalagardens
Thanks ill persist I'll soon get there
February 11th, 2022
This is not my picture. It was taken by Petespost. He's been having trouble getting a picture on the discussion thread so I wanted to see if I could do it. It may not be his favorite, but at least he's represented here now.

Here is one of your pictures Peter that I posted using the directions I gave you. Are you trying to post your picture to the discussion thread before you post it in your project? If so, you have to post it in your project first, then copy it here by using the share icon (the arrow). Does that make sense?

February 11th, 2022
@randystreat This is a cool shot- it makes me think of the stallactites (or stalagmites?) in caves.

@theredcamera This is beautiful Ellen!

Thanks for sharing ladies!
February 11th, 2022
Well I think I just might have got it right finally, hope so.
February 12th, 2022
@mirroroflife You did! Good job and good shot!
