We are staying in a house in Queenstown just opposite the Queenstown Gardens. Today I was really excited to see a lot of Kereru (native pigeon) gorging themselves on the red berries of a rather large tree. They are really big birds and their wings have a distinctive sound when they are flying. That is what attracted my attention to start with.
