I went for a drive yesterday morning to Moke Lake - one of my favourite places. It was rather chilly as can be seen by the ice along the edge of the lake.
I flew back home late afternoon arriving New Plymouth around 8:30 pm last night to the news that my son has been hospitalised with malaria. He arrived back from a business trip to Africa on Monday! He has had a really bad couple of days but is feeling a bit more comfortable now. He has the worst strain possible so they will be keeping a very close eye on him.
Oh my, so sorry re your son. My daughter who used to work for UNICEF had malaria twice and break bone fever another time. Sometimes it is down right terrifying to be a mother

thank you so much for your lovely comments. @jgpittenger Jane that must have been so hard.
I think my son is improving, but not fast. The spiking temperatures make him feel pretty lousy!
