8th April 2021

1 year, 14 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020

First thing this morning we were out for a trot in Bushy Park. I think I prefer morning runs although I hate getting up early - Colin is not sure and probably prefers the later afternoon. I tried out my new interval timer app on my phone and unlike the last one, this one is very effective and I can actually hear it this time. I managed the 5km distance again and reduced my time by nearly 3/4’s of a minute to 30 minutes and 48 seconds - faster than the very last official park run we did back on the 7th of March last year shortly before we went into the first lock down.

After showering I undertook possibly my 6th or 7th hair cut for Colin. I’m getting adept now with no bald patches and it looked pretty good.

In the afternoon I pulled cards for The Card Collection and Squires and sat down to make up nearly 190 greeting cards. It is nice to start getting back to some type of normality. Next week things start opening a little more from Monday 12th of April (also by coincidence our wedding anniversary!). Non essential shops will open and also restaurants with outside space. I will finally be able to get into the three branches of Waterstones and take out the Christmas header boards and unsold cards and change my spinner back to a more seasonal look.

In the midst of making up all the cards, I received another call from Martin at the Port of London Authority who spent a long time chatting about the dead dog I had reported and also about mud-larking and what you can and cannot do - very interesting.
