30th April 2021

1 year, 36 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020.

I was up early, the earliest I have been for a while and showered and headed off to the doctors for a blood test. I have to say the it was so much easier than the time a few weeks ago that I attempted to take my own blood for tests! It felt quite unusual to actually be in the doctors surgery and to be catting with Amber the nursing It was all over with very quickly and I headed home for breakfast. At least I was up and ready early in the day.

In the afternoon when Colin was back from golf, we were finally able to take the bags of charity stuff to various shops and cleared our loft out a bit.

I also had to undertake an antibody test that I had volunteered to take on behalf of the UK biobank that I have been contributing to since 2008. The test was a bit complicated and I was determined to do it properly. The results looked rather like a pregnancy test with two lines if antibodies are found. Although I have had the first vaccination, the antibodies generated are often not enough to register on the scale. This positive result is not only reassuring that I should be OK if exposed to Covid 19 but could also demonstrate that I have had or been exposed in the past. This supports my thought that I did in fact have a mild version last March before we went into lock down, I felt so rough and had a cough that went on for weeks.
