17th December 2021

1 year, 258 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020

Despite the late night last night, we we up nice and early to head up into town for Colin’s appointment at the Royal Marsden. This has been cancelled three times and indeed this appointment was cancelled and then reinstated just yesterday afternoon!

I had hoped to be able to join in via the telephone on speaker phone but in the event I was not able to despite bringing my headphones. I wandered around a nearby park with a climbing wall and interesting gardens before meeting Colin again outside of the hospital. The Consultant was helpful but the most constructive thing is that Colin now has an MRI scan booked for the 13th of January which should give us a much better idea of what is actually casing the pain.

As we were in South Kensington it seemed a shame to head back home straight away so we walked up the Exhibition Road and looked at the ice rink outside of the Natural History Museum which looked really pretty. Then into the V&A for a wander and I wanted to show Colin the George Morris Rooms where the cafe is now as they are so impressive and then we visited the jewellery gallery - equally impressive. We left fairly early to avoid the rush hour.
