Turtle in Distress

I found this turtle on the side of the road with the back portion of her shell damaged. It appeared to have been hit by a car - which is always a real danger for slow moving creatures on a busy road.
I know nothing about turtles but I hope she recovers.

Always sad to see them dead on the road. My father used to say that when you see a lot of turtles out there is a lot of rain coming.

Aw bless. Hope it makes a full recovery. Hate seeing animals damage and having to go on without anyone to help them.

Not sure if we have refuges around here. I did not see her this morning when I went by so she probably headed back to the lake last night.

Slight damage to the house.. occupant probably OK?

I think she will be okay - always a chance of parasites/ infection starting to decay the healthy part.

Awww I'm sorry. She should be okay, though. I've seen turtles with injured shells that keep right on going.

Hopefully, she was not damaged too much. Since she was not there this morning, we can be hopeful.
