Practicing panning for my camera club challenge. But then, I never need an excuse to take a photo of Shadow running.
This took a bit of set up. Had to get Shadow sitting a ways back, then move forward to toss the ball so that I could shoot him as he ran past.
Typical Border Collie! He would do this all day!!
This is really well done. So hard to do, I think! Lucky that the dog could do this all day perhaps so you get more than one chance at capturing. (Or did you miraculously get this shot on the first try?)

No - it did take more than one try and I did set the shutter on continuous so I could follow along.
It looks much harder than it is - just a matter of using a slow shutter speed and keeping the subject in your viewfinder. I really enjoy panning - my favourite technique I think!
