It's just starting to snow and the temperatures are very cold and this poor jay, who usually looks pretty sleek, has turned himself into a puff ball in an attempt to insolate from the cold. I feel sorry for the birds in the winter. Feathers just don't seem as if they would be much protection from -15degree temps.
