A very varied selection of towns on the Fylde coast from Fleetwood town in the north to Lytham in the south.
Fleetwood is a working class fishing town with wide streets & no fancy shops.
Clevelys is a bustling little town with cheapish shops but always very busy mostly with elderly shoppers & holiday makers.
Blackpool is Blackpool, holiday makers, hen & stag parties, what you see is what you get!
St Anne's is much more upmarket & then we have Lytham which is even more upmarket.
Strange to have such a different feel to all these towns within about fifteen miles of coastline.
Lydia & I went out for our lunch in St Anne's & then on to Lytham to call at Lydia's old place of holiday work.
Three good things:
1. Lovely to catch up with all Lydia's news.
2. Beautiful Christmas decorations in all the streets.
3. I bought Lily a new water bowl for Christmas.
I suppose the cost of real estate would dictate where people wanted to live if there were all these little towns so close! Some places will thrive, others will go backwards. Nothing to do with jobs though. Great lights inside the shops at this hour!
@maggiemae Yes maggiemae the houses in these different towns are very different with Fleetwood having lots if terraced & Clevelys & Bkackpool a variety of terraced & semi detached but St Anne's & Lytham have larger houses, lots if detached ones with period features.
@pinkpaintpot funnily enough Linda I very rarely go to Lytham or St Anne's. I always tend to go to Blackpool if doing a non food shop....that must say a lot about me ha ha. I am a Garstang shopper probably because before we moved here from Inglewhite I always shopped there so just continued to do so. I must say Lytham was very nice & now I know where to park I might go more often.
