A day at home in the warm listening to the radio & wrapping last minute presents.
A farmer friend called in with his packed lunch to eat his lunch. He catches moles in his spare time so he has been checking his traps.
Three good things:
1. The parcel we had been waiting for arrived from NZ.
2. Some lovely new photos of the boys inside.
3. Fish & chips tonight after delivering some cards.....I am the postman with the NZ cards so glad I can deliver before Christmas.
At least there is a bright sky in your view - no more rain hopefully! Our present to Canada arrived yesterday too - the NZer's got it right. And you opened your box!
Lovely glow.....so nice to look forward to longer days little by little.
New photos. ....how lovely! You'll be counting down to your trip soon I'm sure. And also thank you for your lovely Christmas card. .....I have a pile in the sitting room which just haven't got written this week!! Lots of love from all of us and all the best in 2016 xxxxxx
@sarah19 thanks Sallie, no worries re card....I lapse now & again too, some I forgot last year haven't sent this time but I have. Swings & roundabouts!
Sounds like you are keeping busy. I have had a few cards arrive from the UK but I never seem to send any before christmas as work gets busy, so I always do my cards when I have a break. It will be a quiet Christmas this year.
sounds a good place to be in your weather. I was intrigued to hear about the mole catcher. when we stayed in the Lakes District the farm we were on had mole hills and I was dying to see a mole but the farmer said they were a problem and he had set traps too. Made me think of Wind in the Willows. Alas I never saw one
@cruiser Actually moles are sweet little animals who, live in the dark so pretty blind. They have wonderful soft smooth velvety fur. Unfortunately they cause massive problems when they come up for whatever reason & they make mole hills. These piles of beautiful earth get in the hay & so,age we feed our cattle so spoil the valuable crop by contaminating it with soil. Gardeners don't like them either because they ruin lawns. Shame as they do no harm to anyone!
Lovely photo.
