We were checking the measurements on the structural engineers plans this afternoon. We are of the age when we are used to imperial measurements so I was just converting the room sizes into feet!
Three good things:
1. The dog I see being taken for a walk in a pram was walking today beside the empty pram!!
2. We have taken some more stuff to the container.
3. No walking today.....rain & we were lazy.
Metric?!? Not a clue. I was a residential architectural draftsman for many years and it was feet and inches all the way...except I could not do calculations after 7 p.m., I made too many mistakes! Your view is so lovely, it will be worth the wait!
We been metric for years but still have to go back to imperial to get a visual.. that is a lovely light room ..guess you will be making the most of that..
Busy times Pat - I am with you I have no visual concept of metric measurement and always have to convert back to imperial measurements and weights . Although I taught food technology for many years in metric measurements since I retired I have converted back to the old lb and oz !!such a lovely big window Pat to look over your garden !
This window at this side will be the second bedroom but the living room/kitchen/ family room will have the same view through big folding doors. We are just beginning to imagine it.
A big table is necessary for looking at plans! I must admit I don't like imperial with oven baking. Always have to convert it to centigrade. Same with outside temperatures.
@samae Were having the garden guys in starting Monday Sarah...it’s full of overgrown brambles & overgrown tree shoots! Neglected for three years but will be great when tidied up...thank you.
I always have to convert metric back to imperial too. David being an engineer always uses metric but I am hopeless. I use metric in temperatures and money but always have to convert measurements back to feet and inches.
This is an awesome shot of what is going on in your life. I can't wait to see all of your wonderful renovations! Is that fabulous wall of windows going to remain? Love the openness and the gorgeous view.
So glad the US didn't make the conversion to metric. I'm thoroughly steeped in the imperial system.
@peggysirk No the windows are going at this end Peggy as it will be a bedroom but the other end will have the same but sliding doors into the garden from family room. We might make the window a patio door instead depending on quote!!

I can never get used to metric except I think I know 2.2ibs is one Kg roughly. I can only imagine room sizes in feet!

@kwiksilver Me too, it’s a pain sometimes!
