Blackpool Tower complex

I’ve been to Blackpool today on a research into new glasses.
I have an eye test tomorrow morning & wanted to check out the offers at Specsavers before I looked at my opticians tomorrow.
It’s a long time since I’ve been into any big town ….lots of diversions for building work & there is a massive multi storey car park going up near the Tower.

I’ve had my glasses for five years & they look too big for my face now……shall I go rimless or chose my usual tortoiseshell ….big decisions!

Is this where they hold the famous Strictly show once a year? I went from rimless to a dark frame a few years ago, but think I woul have something less obvious next time

@busylady Yes this is the entrance to the famous dance hall…..a beautiful place with a lovely sprung floor.
I’m thinking the same….my glasses seem to dominate my face now….too big & too dark. I did notice in Spec-savers they had frames for smaller faces.
@carolmw It’s a wonderful dance hall & very well used for locals & many competitions & teaching. Not to mention the amazing Wurlitzer too…..the resident organ which ruses out of the floor.

I have only been to Blackpool once & that was as a teenager with school. I think we concentrated on the fair ground, I don’t remember much else.

Always good to get a red coated pedestrian..
Always find that the SS specials are not quiet what they seem as they then add this and that and so the price goes up..
Never know what style suits me either..

Iconic entrance there! Glasses......it is so hard! Last time I bought some, I took my boy with me and we kept taking photos on the phone so I could look at them with the current glasses on or I had no idea if they were okay or not!

Ooh choosing glasses is a nightmare isn't it ! and unfortunately I seem to have needed to change my glasses annually! It takes me ages to choose and in the end I seem to end up with similar shape and design. Last year for the first time I had eye testing at home - which was marvellous and the assistant was such a help in choosing the frames from a wide selection she had in cases!!

Yes it’s choosing the style that’s the worst. I seem to like the more rounded ones but unfortunately they don’t suit me! I seem to think a more oblong narrower shape suits me best but there weren’t many of then today….not the IN style!

Choosing new glasses is difficult isn't it. I got new glasses a few weeks ago and I am pleased with them.

I chose 1/2 rimless for my new glasses. Were expensive but they are so light I forget I've got them on!

Oh that fun session of trying loads on and squinting unattractively at the mirror to try and work out if they suit. As you can tell I'm a tortoiseshell big glasses kind of person but I'm wondering if you're more of a subtle rimless person. I love my glasses being bold and obvious so I think that's something to bear in mind, whether you want them to help you stand out or blend in.

I have been there once, years ago when my son was living in the UK , it was wintery with nobody around and most of the outlets closed, so I haven't lovely memories. I was so set aback that I didn't even consider going up the tower.
