Fern roof. by happypat

Fern roof.

These gigantic ferns were stunning at the Maungatautari Ecological Trust near Cambridge in NZ. The sun shining through was so pretty I was mesmerised by the whole place.
You could climb to the top of the mountain taking 4 to 5 hours or the shorter walk of 1 to 2 hours.
It was so peaceful !
Isn't it fascinating to travel to places where the vegetation is totally different from what we have at home? This place look fantastic - makes me think of Jurassic Park :-)

@meisen325 These tree ferns cost so much money in the garden centers here Monica & they grow like weeds over there !!! Travel is a wonderful thing & the next best 365 !!!

@happypat True, ferns are not exactly exotic but I have never seen any this big except in more tropical areas, where as you say, they grow everywhere. Love your travel pics.
