Pretty boring photo here but there has been quite a lot of publicity about the Shale Gas Fracking story on the main news yesterday. On my walk on Monday I took photos of all the wires & ramps across the roads on all the lanes in this area. Along every field edge there are wires & little engines ready to detonate small explosions underground to find how much gas there is in the layers underneath the Fylde.
This exercise is costing a fortune & there will be no way that the government & relevant departments are going to say that they wont allow it to go ahead !
Unless we have another earthquake in this area that is !!!!
I was thinking about you yesterday when they were reporting this. I agree - they want the gas too much - just so long as they don't let it contaminate the lovely a lack soil a bit of shaking won't matter ;0)
It was not something I had heard of before I watched it on the news. It does sound like something that needs a lot more research before starting large scale.
We have a major fracking controversy going on here in South Africa as well. No matter how many people object, the powers that be don't seem to take any notice.
