We have been out to a Jubilee street party this afternoon organised by the WI. £6 a head & as much food as you could want.
There were competitions, a children's entertainer & plenty of social chit chat.
We are getting the mileage from this Jubilee in our part of the world !!!
Glad to see Chapeldown wine, our local vineyard!! Lucky you, we went to a summer barbecue lunch party.........shame cold and wet but fun!! You certainly know how to enjoy yourselves ooop north!!! ish!!
@fannyb Well Fanny that is the first time I have bought English wine & I have to say it was delicious !!!! There is a glass left in the bottle for me tonight !!! What a coincidence it is made near you !!
I'm feeling left out!! Our street is too busy for a genuine street party but the gardens are plenty big enough - if I'd been at home and we didn't have revision going on I'd have planned one but with the terrible weather I'm quite relieved I didn't!
@judithg I rather regretted organising one last Sunday when the weather was horrendous but glad we did in the end but I have done my share now..someone else next time !
All this red white and blue is lasting well ...........probably keep going till the Olympics!!! Everyone looks like they are enjoying a good chat anyway!
@bpaquette This was before Barbara we were waiting out turn to go up to the front. Harry was chatting to the lady next to him about farming as our youngest son in NZ used to work on their farm before they emigrated.
