I am watching it right now, and it is fabulous!!! Your country has offered a great show to the world.

Wasn't it just the tops!

I love England!

This is awesome. What a profound night

I didn't have a chance to watch any of the program yet.

Well done Danny Boyle and all those fantastic volunteers too. A success in my book!

It was a spectacular show! I wondereded if you would do this as you fooled me with your picture of the giant puppets in Liverpool so you have the knack of taking a shot of a TV picture.
July 28th, 2012
It was incredible, how they did that was spectacular
July 28th, 2012
Bravo! Well done, Great Britain! The Opening Ceremony was thoroughly entertaining and sensational from start to finish!!

I agree - a brilliant evening and quite stirring. I loved the Industrial carnage and emergence of the chimneys. I have never imagined this as poetic, as it always seems so ghastly and ugly - but our Lancashire lad Danny Boyle pulled it off! Great, clever shot of the flame - looks like you were there Pat. PS your selfie was lovely the other day.

@daviefrance You are right Davie & I had forgotten he was a Lancashire lad, even better!! The chimneys were quite starkly beautiful, I was mesmorised & really wish I had been there as will everyone! Thank you for your nice words on my selfie!

It was nice watching on TV because the commentaries helped it make sense. And seeing the Queen and James Bond helicoptering in. And of course Kenneth Branagh close ups.

It was stunning !! Never moved for three hours. I loved it all. I am proud to be British.

@jtookey150 A woman in the bakery said she found it boring..........!!!!!!
July 28th, 2012
@happypat I cannot believe it !!!
July 28th, 2012
@jtookey150 Small minds!
July 28th, 2012
@daviefrance @happypat it's funny because I was saying to the kids that they'd created more of a Northern scene than a London one - blooming marvellous too in my opinion! Genius to use a sense of humour after China's hyper organised spectacular. Lots of things we can be proud of and good on the Queen! I'm really glad that the rest of the world seems to have enjoyed it too - you can never be sure if people will 'get' it. Who doesn't love Mr Bean though?!

You put on a great show, and though it would have been wonderful to see in person, we in the *colonies* needed the commentators for some of the subtleties. Also, I apologize for Mitt Romney's (not my candidate) remarks before the opening. See what we have to deal with over here? Lastly, if you have no one in particular to root for in the pole vault competition, pull for Jeremy Scott. His wife is our niece, Rosie's, best friend since elementary school.

@jimmyveee Ah well our representatives abroad do not always behave in the way we would wish which is what we think whenever we see drunken British holiday makers on the Costa Del Sol! Will definitely look out for Jeremy, it will be nice to ''know'' someone there !

Very cool.

It was indeed a great evening! I hadn't thought I'd watch it all but I did!
And lovely to hear positiveness for a whole week at every turn!
Wonder how different our world would be if the media took a more positive approach to what is happening on a day to day basis!
