Let there be light!! by happypat

Let there be light!!

Our new solar sun umbrella made it's first appearance today....a lovely present we bought with a voucher Brian & Lesley gave us last year.
I hope it gets LOTS of use this summer!!
Thank you very much
Oh nice - I thought you meant it opened and closed automatically!!

@judithg he he no just that it lights up & when there is no sun you can plug it in the electric....slightly wobbly on it's stand though , will have to shut it down every night in case a wind gets up!

That is so cool. They have so many neat soar products to enhance your evening sit outs on the patio.

@busylady It's just the usual sort of sun umbrella Judith but it has a solar panel on the top so when it goes dark & we are sitting out entertaining the little lights come on....that's the idea anyway! It also tilts so you can adjust the angle.

It sounds perfect on a warm summers evening when you are in the company of great friends and you don't want to break the party up!

Wow, what a brilliant idea! Why have I never heard of these before??? Would be perfect in South Africa! Do keep me informed how it performs through your summer.

@kwiksilver It's working well tonight Gillian but not too happy with the stability of the thing...a big wind & it will be over. Might have to use the hole in the table again as the weight might not be heavy enough but it does look very pretty at night!

Lovely shot, I hope you get to use it lots. We need a new one (the old one wasn't as posh as your's though) as we left it out at the table in the back and the wind DID get up, and it honestly got lifted over our house in a strong gust and then dropped and smashed on the ground on the footpath in front of our house. Very dramatic! and definitely the end of it! :-)

@jesperani Thank you Jennifer for all your comments....our old brolly is definitely superior to this one in build so we have kept it even though it has a bamboo cane for a strut ...might just outlive this one but i must say this one does look very pretty!!

How clever. This must be the same green brolly as in your recent self portrait.
