Guard dog.

On my walk today I managed to stick my camera through the gates of this large house I passed.
The dog here spends his days sitting on his cushion, I tried to catch him sitting there but of course as soon as he saw me he was up & barking...I beat a hasty retreat!!!

I am very unsatisfied with my photos at the moment, I have lost my mojo mainly because I am missing a view finder on my new camera...not easy getting a macro shot when you are looking through a screen.. Will have to buy one next week I think then I can get a bit more variety..

Very nice shot. That is quite the dog. I believe it is a German Shepherd. He doesn't look all that friendly.

Great job he has - sure beats those poor Beefeaters guarding the palace. This made me think of the castle in Monarch of the Glen...but when I googled it, it looks nothing at all like it!

@barrowlane @bpaquette This is a stunning house but quite small really. It used to be the local nursing home but then bought & done up by a family living there ...She was in the next bed to me in hospital once. Next door this an even nicer smaller version but they have solid wood gates so I can't get a picture.
