Duck update

Little ducks are still doing well. Here they are crossing the lane on their way home to the pond after having their tea at our place.
Out of our drive, across the lane, up the path into their field......a fraught journey avoiding crows & now foxes.
Mr Fox was seen in this field a couple of days ago.
My first reaction to your duck photos is count 1,2,,3,4,5,6,before I read your message -- but I see all is well get any of the well with the happy little family ,and I hope none of the predators will get any of them -now that they have been so well cared for and fed Super photo Pat !

Lovely shot. I think he's educating them, " ...and this is where you get your sodium supplement ...but not too much now!".

They're such a cute little family, thanks for sharing them with us all. And you have a beautiful lane that you live on. Wonderful shot!

They have survived this far they have to go all the way now; they are having quite a tough upbringing and goodness aren't they getting big

@ellida would loved to have got rid of that ugly salt box Graham....would have been better if I had got the other side but no time, it's amazing how fast those ducks walk!

Just darling - like a Beatrix Potter family. I hope they will be safe. I know that baby foxes also get hungry.

Glad to see they are all surviving. Still a bit worried though, first crows and not foxes. I'm glad I'm not a duck. so much to contend with.

Love the duckling updates, and Pat I've found someone else on 365 who is also following six surviving ducklings. http://365project.org/jan20/365/2014-05-04

I bet your heart is in your mouth watching their journey home. I can feel the tension just looking at them on the lane! Lovely shot.

Obviously not much road traffic down this cute wee country lane. Its so familiar to you but nice for us to see the surrounding country as well. Did we have to know about Mr Fox who has a reputation of being completely unscrupulous?
