"It's all falling into place now" said Michael as walked into his surprise party. About seventy of us celebrated his big birthday at The Barn at Scorton.
Michael & Ruth have been friends of ours since all our children went to the village school.
We now share grandchildren as our daughter & their son got married, much to our delight.
A "village school" sounds so nice. I went to a small school in a small town...now I teach in a LARGE school in suburbs of Atlanta. Lots of anonymity. Sad, really. I love the look on his face! And 70 people? That is a lot of friends to have come to a party. He must be an awesome guy
@espyetta he had had a very varied life with lots of interests & commitment to community life.......almost single handidly transformed the Danish railway system in his time at work for English Electric.
@julzmaioro indeed Julz a great character & very inventive....he has made everything in his time...even would you believe it a wet suit!, only learnt that bit of info last night...it only lasted one outing of course!
