We were only staying a block away from St Patrick's so I got myself up,early & went to the 7am mass with music & singing....it was lovely even though the inside is covered in scaffolding.
These are the little everyday things I always love to do when on holiday.
I was glad I made the effort. Walked back past the studios where Today the USA breakfast show was being broadcast...I could see them interviewing the celebrities.
Bought myself a coffee from a food kiosk outside the studio.
Richard Gere & Julie Roberts were there the next morning!
Love how you caught the steam in the shot. It's a beautiful Cathedral. Also, you can see reflections on the skyscrapers in the background. Nice capture.
Love this shot. And how wonderful that you ventured out to the early service and subsequent early morning NYC experiences. Good for you, Pat! You know how to get the most out of a trip.
@peggysirk Thanks Peggy, I always like to do more everyday stuff & love to go to any Sunday or morning service at the local church. Not that I am particularly religious & I will go to any denomination but you do meet the local inhabitants. This was the biggest 'local' church I had ever done I think! Early morning in NY was very interesting but by golly it was cold! No good lying in bed missing stuff!
I like this shot, the sort of shot one would expect to see from New York with the steam coming from the street manhole covers, and the high rise buildings. Fav.
@gamelee Thank you Alex...it was one of the things I was so pleased to see....yellow cabs & steam coming out of the grids! One advantage of going in the cold weathers,
Oh good work Pat! We should have done that - no scaffolding when we went but Adam through a wobbly because I wandered off to take photos and he lost me. I image the choir was amazing - the churches in NY well loved I think.
