On Saturday Jack took me all around the various university buildings in Sheffield.
This beautiful building is the civil engineering department. The facilities everywhere looked really good, modern beautiful places to study but my word he has to walk quite a way from place to place!
We went into the building that houses the Paternoster lift ...we couldn't try it unfortunitely as it doesn't operate at the weekends.
I like all sorts of music but as I have got older I am listening to more & more classical music.
Classic FM is good but when I hear something I like I can never remember the name afterwards that's even if I catch what the presenter says!
Jack has made me a lovely CD with 32 tracks of some beautiful music which I listened to for the first time on my way to Kendal today.
Thank you Jack.
Lovely tones in the brickwork. If you look on here http://www.classicfm.com/radio/playlist/
you can see which piece of music was on classic FM on which day and time. I couldn't do without my fix of classical music.
@quietpurplehaze Thanks Hazel....I do sometimes listen on my iPad & its great that it tells you what's playing but not so good in the car.....the names of the pieces are so hard to remember aren't they? I know the very well known ones but inam learning more of the names all the time.
Lovely sunlight streaming through in this scene. My husband is getting more and more into classical music, much to the amusement of friends and family as it doesn't necessarily fit the burly farmer rugby player stereotype!
@cazla No I can believe that Cazla....I think us farmers are usually more associated with country music.....I love that too in fact Jazz & Sinatra stuff but classical has lots more to it. Good for your husband he is getting older perhaps so has more taste!
The Victorian architecture in this lovely old red bricked building with its many paned glass windows looks so wonderful in the dappled sun . And the lone student making the most of the sunny weather really makes this into a beautiful capture Pat
That looks like such a classic and beautiful campus! Jack is in a lovely setting. He's a youngster...the walking shouldn't be too hard on him. ☺ And such a sweetheart to make that CD of classical music...you have a special grandson, Pat. But I'm certain you know that.
@peggysirk thank you Peggy for your lovely words....I am truly blessed with six wonderful grandchildren...every one a gem! It was especially kind of Jack to make this CD though ...not every young man would think of that!
Lovely buildings - so conducive to studying! Maybe straighten it a bit (so that the closer part of the building is more horizontal)? A tricky one to get straight.
@kwiksilver Yes I think it looks slightly off myself......I found it quite difficult with the leaning trees plus it was on a hill & I am lower down. I think younare right about the centre post of the actual building though! Thank you.

I must admit that I usually remember composers rather than names of pieces except for the very well-known ones.
