Setting off!

A walk around the village of Downham which is situated in the shadow of Pendle famous for its witches folk lore.

The village of Downham is so picturesque with its stone house & tiny river running through it. Of course Downham was the place were Whistle Down the Wind was filmed.

Six of us walked today & it was pretty tough. Lots of hills & muddy tracks & it took us a long time to,walk about five miles. We didn't come of the hills until 4pm so it was just beginning to go dark.
Lovely scene with the walkers striding up the thick grass and the hedges, fences and autumn trees in the background!

I love the composition too - the pop of colour from the walkers' jackets and the scene extending out the rest of the image.
