Through the Looking Rail

Still snowing, and still staying in, reading.

Looking through the balcony railing shown in yesterday's photo:

Inspired by @Taffy, who loves patterns.
I clicked on this and it disappeared!! So I looked at a couple other photos and it came back! ;) Cool patterns...there are all kinds of shapes visible from the formation of the grid depending on what's behind it! Intriguing.

@lynnb -- you weren't imaging things! I deleted the earlier one when I realized it was crooked (so obvious when there are so many lines that should be squared up). But then, I didn't know that others had commented but it seems that the following lovely comments were lost in the delete/re-load (apologies!).

the geometry is really fun to look at. it has nice depth. the spots of bright light in the background make it sparkle. hope the reading was inspiring.

@vankrey -- the funny thing about the reading is that whole reason I was able to stay in on these snowy days and read is that I have been given special permission to take a book home for three days, despite the fact that I'm not registered with the police, which is normally required to get a library card here.

@jyokota I remember you saying that! crazy stuff. as a complete aside, be on the look out for a email from me with links about some possible Nikko lodgings...just a heads up.

@vankrey OK, looking forward to doing e-planning with you. And just a warning: I'll just be coming back from months of talking mostly only to myself at that point!

I like how the repetition is broken up slightly by the lights shining through.

And I do like this a lot! Thanks for the shout-out -- it makes me feel like I'm developing a style.
