We woke up at 4:45 am, left at 5:15am, arrived at 6:00 am, and waited two hours in the car for the fog to lift. Every once in awhile, we would get peeks of the canyon below the thick fog -- and even have to pick up our tripods to quickly move to a new spot to "Chase the Light."
Ahhh, the dedication of a committed photographer!!! Truly amazing place Junko. I'll never get to see it, so am really enjoying seeing through your eyes and camera.
Oh that is super - a gap in a the fog and a patch of sunlight is all you need to chase the shadows off. I love moments like this, so uplifting. Beautiful image.
@golftragic --Oh, Marnie, I do wish you could see it. It's quite spectacular. Frustrating as it was to spend so much time waiting in the C-O-L-D for a glimpse of something to photograph, I have to say that this is an image I hadn't expected to see so a fun capture.
@casablanca@joansmor@ulla@louannwarren@henrir -- thank you for your visits and comments, not only for this one but your many other enormously supportive comments on others as well.
@byrdlip -- your wonderful comment made me smile. Thank you, thank you. Because I can thank you more than once.
@jyokota Junko, my friend, I wish I could see it too!!! We haven't been to North America and not sure if/when that might happen. The tyranny of distance seems to get worse as one ages and it's such a loooong flight from Oz to the US or Canada. Asia is so much closer we have tended to do most of our travelling there or in NZ. The disastrous exchange rate of the Aussie $ against the $US is also a strong deterrent. And I'm none too sure about visiting the US while The Orange One is in the White House, he seems intent on offending just about every other country in the world.
