Malá Strana with Prague Castle

Taken from the vantage point of standing on the Charles Bridge with the first statue silhouetted to the left. Back in 1995, I served on my first Caldecott Committee, and we awarded David Wisniewski's book, The Golem, set in Prague. The exquisitely detailed cut paper art highlighted the architecture of Prague and it intrigued me, it was so unlike anything I had see before. An honor book that same year was Petr Sis' Starry Messenger, for which I went to see the exhibit while in Prague this time. 25 years later, the two books are brought together for me in two days. Beautiful capture, the low aperture definitely makes for great starbursts from the streetlamps.
