First attempt at baking without the crutch of the bread machine. I proofed the sourdough for 10 hours and shaped and baked it in the dutch oven the next morning. Surprisingly successful so hoping to try more variations next. This one was with bread flour and flavored with fennel seeds, nigella seeds, chia seeds, and sesame seeds. I've ordered different flours to try next. (and yes, I give away most of every loaf!)
And yes -- intentionally placed in front of my aero gardens growing wildly.
New Sourdough Starter pot from Etsy. I didn't order the kind marked "sourdough starter" because I figured if I was unsuccessful I wouldn't have a reminder and could use the pot for other things.
You’re getting to be quite the bread maker. I’ll bet Oliver the squirrel is disappointed you’re doing so well because now he misses out on the failures!
@jgpittenger -- yes please, except I can't digest onions so I'll have to leave it out but I just got my order of rye flower and crawly seeds so I would love your recipe
Wow, your garden thingo has gone beserk, lots of yummy stuff. Great work with the sourdough. Must confess it's too much fiddling for my liking, I just buy mine.
