I usually keep this area between my backdoor and my library door clear of snow because it's also an area I have to walk through to get to my trash cans and car. But after this last storm, I just didn't have the energy to do more than dig a narrow trench. The squirrels appreciatively run back and forth in the trench now.
@uerks -- my husband and I were both in the same field (teaching reading and children's literature) so this home library was our shared work space. Of course, we also have about 10 bookshelves inside the house as well. And piles and piles of books. Piles.
