Physostegia virginiana, the obedient plant, obedience or false dragonhead -- in the mint family and while it is a native plant for Georgia it may be more invasive than "obedient."
@valerina Thanks Valerina... I do see "eyes" on the flower midway up on the left side... how funny!
@marlboromaam Thanks Maggie... this was nursery grown... we are trying to plant more native plants that attract pollinators. This one is doing quite well.
@kvphoto It's beautiful! Maybe next year, I'll get to that point where I feel comfortable setting out more plants. Too much clearing, trimming and clean up to do now. =(
@jb030958 Thanks Jennie... I think it will thrive where I planted it.
@marlboromaam I know what you mean... it is a tremendous amount of work to care for a yard, flower beds, gardens, etc. Luckily I have someone else who mows, edges, and trims some of the shrubs... that helps tremendously.
@milaniet@dutchothotmailcom@aikiuser@wakelys Thanks for your comments... I’m hoping that the obedient means they will survive... some of the new plants I’ve put in recently have been struggling but this one is settling in nicely.
@thewatersphotos I think you said you really like black eyed suzies and they are also invasive... I just dig them up and move them where I want more of them.
