Ananadale road by ludwigsdiana

Ananadale road

same day same road. To the left of me it was still raining, but clearing up over the hills. We do live in a rather beautiful hilly area which is mostly covered with vineyards and olive trees. They yellow flowers are all over atm.
Clouds form over mountains and hills - good as long as they move on! Is this a place where you are kept out - or kept in?

@maggiemae Neither nor Maggiemae, it is taken from the road travelling to Stellenbosch and the shops. All grounds have to be fenced in to avoid squatters from grabbing land. There are gates with security, so one can come and go after your details have been taken. Especially the farmers are very vulnerable and often pay with their lives unfortunately. It is not a safe country to live in, especially now with covid and all the people who have lost their income. So sad :-(

How pretty- it does remind me of my own area. While we do have our share of towns and small cities, there is a lot of farmland and woods too. Interestingly they have discovered that our soil is great for vineyards so several farms have now shifted to growing grapes. Some of the wines are really quite good- and one has garnered some worldwide attention. Beautiful shot!

Beautiful landscape. I hope we can get a drive out to our wine country soon. We’re surrounded by it and not too far away.

Beautiful scenery. Great capture.

@bruni Yes Bruni it is quite safe as long as you do not have anything on the seats that is worth stealing. When you stop at robots e.g. they smash your window and grab what they can see :-(
@shutterbug49 That sounds wonderful. We have 144 wine estates around us, and have only been to a fraction of them ;-)
