It is white so with the sun coming in from the side, I thought I would photograph it in B & W. I thought it looked rather sad! It probably is as it is the last in the garden. The rest have all died or been pruned off!
It does illicit a feeling of sadness - the petals are delicate but have a frailness that only B&W can highlight. The petals usual smooth textures seem magified and conjour thoughts of a withered, dying plant. Excellent work
The black & white does show the light beautifully! One of the classes in our show is a photo, black & white, wild flowers & fauna..didn't think it would work but it does here!
A great job, Maggiemae! Beautiful keepsake as your last one of the season ...love the b&w and your pov. I never could grow roses ... maybe someday, I'll try again. In the meantime, I can enjoy yours. :)
