Genetics

This is my nephew riding the beach that his Grandfather raced on. That's Burt Munro and Oreti Beach is now known as his home racing ground. Its flat and hard and goes for miles. Oreti beach is in Invercargill and the film, "The Worlds Fastest Indian" was partly filmed here. Burt was my husband's father.

Amaya (@worldbiking) posted her photo of Oreti beach; http://365project.org/worldbiking/365/2012-12-28
Love the high key and tones. Wait, are you all related to Burt? Wow, so cool. Fav!

Awesome capture!

Burt Munro was your F-I-L ? Wow !!! You have the most interesting relatives :) TWFI is a superb film - I saw an interview with Anthony Hopkins shortly after the film came out in which he said that playing Burt was one of the most enjoyable roles he'd ever played, and it is easy to see why. Do they still contest the Burt Munro trophy there ??

@cocobella He had a big smile on his face and he is the sort of guy that doesn't smile much!
January 5th, 2013
Great capture of your nephew!

Oh what a read. There are such wonderful comments about the movie, the beach, your shot and how proud you must be and then you let us all know about the cancer. It is such an insipid disease that cares for no-one and just turns lives upside down. Much like this thread. Thoughts go out to your nephew.
