Oamaru Architecture

Another couple of beautiful buildings in Oamaru. The one with the greek columns is the Court House which has been closed as it needs earthquake strengthening.
Beautiful building

Beautiful architecture. We are just waiting for "the big one" here. We are right on a fault line that is overdue for a good earthquake.

Beautiful buildings Maggie, and I really like your pov, showing both side by side. My second thought though was : do I want to be in there in an earthquake? Funny how our pov changes in terms of where we are and what we need to do to stay safe :)

@frida Oamaru has a minimum risk for earthquakes but the recent upgrade in building strengths over the whole of NZ meant that it had to be strengthened

Excellent capture Maggiemae. Such a shame that so many structures in New Zealand are in need of reinforcement. The shaky isles.

@yonnie Its a different look to the one the tourists usually take but thats what 365 challenges you to do! The sun makes a difference on this Oamaru stone architecture but not too bright!
