The rainbow suddenly appeared and just as suddenly disappeared (as they do). I rushed outside and furiously manipulated my manual and automatic settings (as you do) and in spite of the camera saying that it couldn't focus on anything, I managed to get this!
The brown blobs on the screen were rain drops on my lens.
