Autumn crocus by maggiemae

Autumn crocus

The autumn crocus flowering in a small clump in the Public Gardens. This was taken while lying down on this prickly bark and a passing gardener could not help smiling. I dusted myself down and silently rode away on my Ruby!

I don't know if this is the same as the spring crocus.

Lovely display! Great pov! I wonder what the gardener was thinking? They look the same to me as the crocus in bloom here at the moment.

Are the stems really white? I've never seen that before that I know of! They are absolutely beautiful! I wish someone were taking a picture of you taking a picture of this!

Looks like the same that's here except the white stem- but I just bought a pot where the leaves are green and the stems are white- so maybe it's just the way they pollenate them. Lovely!
