LE Velocette by maggiemae

LE Velocette

The latest purchase by hubby as he tried to replicate his first motorbike today! This is a 1949 one and he does have another in the garage. However this one actually goes and is beautifully renovated. You don't start this with your foot - it seems to be a side lever that you move back and forwards with your hand.!
They don't make bikes like that anymore. Love the b&w, it really suits the mood.

Oh absolute FAV . My dad was a Metropolitan Police officer based at first in St John's Wood London then Potters Bar were he patrolled on his Noddy bike ! As these were nicknamed !! (Velocette )
Some tales 're the Noddy Bike including one catching fire and three coppers on night duty on one bike and a police dog following on foot !!

A lovely shot of this wonderful looking bike -- so different from today's models -- and interesting that it is hand started -- rather a laborious job I would think So nice that John has a passion for his hobby -- Keeps him out of mischief Maggiemae !! lol
