But not so at 1am! In our motorhome at this time we were woken up by what sounded like someone throwing acorns on to our roof! Only there were no oak trees about. Each crashing sound was so loud and I stuck my head out the window and heard it on other roofs too! So deducted it was hail! In the distance we could hear thunder. Lasted about 5 minutes then was gone and peace once more!
