This common little sparrow - maybe the rufous winged sparrow - doesn't usually stay put long enough to get a clear shot. Today he made friends with me.
How lovely to see a sparrow. Not at all common where I'm living. We barely see them now. We have some blue tits and magpies. I think it's because so many people put gravel and patios down in their gardens, that birds have less places to come down and peck the lawn for worms. I have some bird feeders, but I miss seeing them all on the grass. It's a lovely picture.
I like the rusty barbed wire contrasting with the soft feathers, and I love all sorts of sparrows they are a;ways far prettier than little brown birds are expected to be!
