There was a massive dark halo around the sun today. This was taken at 18mm (crop frame admittedly!) but I could only just get the whole thing in the frame. Ideally I would have liked to be even wider around it.

There is thin high cloud called cirrus over much of Aotearoa today. This cirrus is made out of ice crystals and is the outflow from ex-tropical cyclone Uesi.
